Following a request by the White House, FOX will air a special "America's Most Wanted" Friday (Oct. 12) focusing on the FBI's new list of 22 most wanted terrorists.

The White House and FBI contacted FOX Wednesday (Oct. 10) to see about producing a special episode of the crime-fighting program aimed at terrorists. The network agreed to do the episode, meaning it had only two days to pull the special together, according to Variety.

"This was something we wish we had more time to put together," says Fox Television Entertainment Group chairman Sandy Grushow, who's producing the episode. "But it seemed quite important to the FBI and White House that we do this as soon as possible, and as soon as possible is Friday night."

"AMW" has already devoted several segments to suspects in the Sept. 11 attacks. Friday's special will target the 22 people on the FBI's most-wanted terrorists list, released Wednesday.

The special "America's Most Wanted" will air at 9 p.m. ET Friday, Oct. 12 on FOX (its normal Saturday slot is taken by the baseball playoffs). The special will pre-empt "Pasadena" for the week.
